Chris Knabenshue has been doing magic since he was 18. He originally started while teaching a class and needed a way to get the attention of his students (one in particularly with a severe cases of ADHD). While trying a couple of tricks in class, he noticed that it immeadiately struck the attention of the students, particularly the one with ADHD. He continued to practice and learn more tricks to apply to his lessons, in order to continue to captivate his students and assist them in learning.
In 2005 he moved to California and began teaching at a high school. He was hired specifically to also start a magic club. While teaching and crafting his magic club, he learned of the Academy of Magical Arts and their clubhouse, the Magic Castle. Peaking his interest, he was honored to go on several occasions as a guest.
Meanwhile, his students in the Magic Club became passionate about their art. One of them desired to try an audition for the Magic Castle's Junior Program. Chris assisted in creating a show with him and working on his audition and was elated when he was accepted after his first audition!
A few years later, Chris also took the plunge and auditioned for Adult Membership as a Magician Member to the AMA. on April 20, 2015 he was honored to join their ranks.
While Chris continues to largely use his magic in conjunction with teaching, he has done several parties and receptions, and is currently working on a video-game based close-up show that he hopes to perform at the Magic Castle.
